KNOTTED - The furniture series inspired by mathematical computation.

Project Background
Knots can be aesthetic decorations formed with only a few threads. Knots can be meaningful, representing time and memory as used by our ancestors. Knots can be practical, becoming connection woven into our everyday life. Knots are ubiquitous. At the core of every knot, however, is pure mathematics.

Design Concept
KNOTTED aims to demonstrate the beauty of mathematics. It reveals the elegance and aesthetics inside algorithms. By incorporating the forms and shapes produced by mathematical equations in Knot Theory and Seifert Surface, extraordinary pieces are created that cross the boundary between furniture and sculpture. Knotted introduces a new combination of mathematics and furniture making.
